     Low Fat Ham and Cheese Scones

Ingredients
2c of all purpose flour
1tb of baking powder
1ts sugar
1/4ts salt
1/4 ts cayene pepper
1/4ts garlic powder
3tb cold butter, cut into small pieces
3/4c shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
3/4c finely chopped ham
 
3/4c buttermilk
2 large egg whites
Cooking spray

Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray baking sheet w/cooking spray.
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder into large bowl. Cut butter into mixture with pastry blender or knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese and ham.
Combine buttermilk and egg whites in separate bowl. Add to flour mixture and incorporate.
Flour hand and surface. Knead dough on lightly floured surface 4 to 5 times. Pat dough into 8 inch circle and place on baking sheet. Cut dough into 8 wedges but do not cut all the way through dough. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
