Mix butter, sugars and egg thoroughly. Stir in flour, soda, and
salt. Dough will be stiff. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop
by 1/4 cupfuls about 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie
sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes (until edges are
set- centers will be soft). Cool before removing from cookie
sheet. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.
