Preheat oven to 350. In medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients and mix well.
In a separate bowl, melt butter and let cool slightly. Then add oil, buttermilk, water, vinegar, vanilla and then eggs (in that order).
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Distribute between 2 8 inch cake rounds that have been greased and floured.
Lower temperature of even to 325, put cakes in immediately.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until knife comes out clean. (if baking cupcakes, bake for 20 minutes)
