     Frosting - German Chocolate Cake Frosting

Ingredients
2/3 Cup sugar
2/3 Cup evaporated milk
2 egg yolks
1/3 Cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 Cup coconut
1 Cup pecans chopped
 

Instructions
In saucepan combine first 4 ingredients- sugar, milk, egg yolks and shortening and bring to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat
Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans. Beat by hand until thickened a bit. Chill for 15 min. Spread on to cooled chocolate cake.
I double this recipe usually because there is never enough to go around -extra is always good.
Serving Suggestions
Great on toast too!
