     French Soup A La Vaughn Goerl

Ingredients
6 lbs soup bones
2 carrots
8 peppercorns
1 clove garlic, halved
12 c. cold water
1 lg onion, chopped
2 stalks celery (with leaves)
1 to 2 bay leaves
1 T. salt
 
1 lb. white onions, peeled and sliced
2 T. butter, melted

Instructions
Bring first 9 ingredients to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 4 to 5 hours. Strain. Saute the pound of onions till transparent; add to the stock. Simmer 30 minutes.
