Preheat oven to 350 and prepare crust as directed.

|
In large bowl combine first 5 ingredients for
filling by hand. Add the eggs and beat well.Stir
in 1 Cup chopped pecans to filling mixture.
This helps it firm up. Pour into pie crust.

|
Place whole pecans on top of pie in a circular
pattern moving from the outside to the inside, OR
sprinkle with coarsely chopped pecans. Cover edges
of pie crust with foil for the first 30 min.

|
Bake up to 45 minutes (or longer) checking for
doneness. Should be set in the center. Cool pie
completely at room temperature before
refrigerating.
