     Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs unbeaten
2 T sugar
2 T cinnamon
 

Instructions
Sift dry ingredients together. Mix shortening, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add in the dry ingredients and mix well.
roll dough into walnut sized balls. roll balls in cinnamon/sugar mix. Place on cookie sheet 2" apart. Bake at 400F 8 to 10 minutes.
They are done when tops crack open. Do NOT bake longer or they will get hard. Remove from oven and leave cookes on the hot cookie sheet until they cool. Remove to wire rack. When completely cool zip into plastic bag.
