Sliders - Baked Ham and Cheese

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None
Servings   6

24 slider buns
6 to 8 Tbl. of Yellow, Spicy Brown, or Dijon Mustard
24 slices ham or turkey
24 thin slices of provolone or Swiss or cheese
black pepper
6 Tbl. unsalted butter
1/4 Cup finely chopped onion
2 Tbl poppy seeds
3 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Heat oven to 350 deg. Arrange slider bun bottoms on sided baking sheet or in baking dish. Brush some mustard on bottom bun. Fold ham in thirds and place 1 slice (or 2 if very thin) on each bottom. Fold cheese the same way and place over ham. Season with pepper. Brush top bun with mustard if you like and place on top of sandwich.
In a small bowl, combine butter, onion and poppy seeds. Microwave until melted, about 1 minute. Whisk in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and 2 Tbl. mustard into butter mixture. Brush tops and sides of sandwiches with this mixture and spoon some over. Cover dish with foil and allow to sit for 10 minutes to absorb sauce.
Baker for 20 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until cheese is melted around edges and tops are slightly firm, about 5 to 7 minutes. Let cool.
NOTE- I've just made this for lunch using hamburger buns. Cut the sauce ingredients by 2/3. Bake the same way.
