Filling-
Mix together first 5 ingredients. Mix with finger to form a crumbly mix.
Bring to a boil 2 cups water. In large bowl, add 1 cup molasses, boiling water, then 2 tsp baking soda. The baking soda will cause mixture to fizz up. Let stand for a few minutes to slightly cool.
Place 1/2 cup liquid mix into unbaked pie shell; 1/2 cup flour mixture, then liquid alternating the two mixtures. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Hot water pie crust-
Crisco in large bowl, pour boiling water over, stir with fork; add flour and salt all at once. Keep mixing only with fork. Do not press or squeeze. Pluck up all particles of flour. Put in refrigerator for 1/2 hour and/or use as needed.
