4-6 firm pears, any variety, peeled and thinly sliced, 2 to 3 cups total
1/4 c unsalted butter, melted
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp vanilla extract
Generous dash of cinnamon(optional)
Dash of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 (I use convection setting). Grease a 9 to 10
inch round pan or deep skillet. Put pear slices in pan. Place
remaining ingredients in a blender and process until smooth,
including cinnamon and/or nutmeg if you wish. Pour the batter
over the pears.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, until custard is firm and golden
colored on top. Cut into wedges and
serve warm. I like it as is for breakfast, reminds me of a dutch
baby with filling.
Next time I might throw a few blueberries or blackberries in
with the pears!
