Preheat oven to 400. Sprinkle the chicken breasts
with garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper.
Rub into chicken on all sides.
Heat oil in oven proof skillet over medium heat.
Place chicken breasts into hot oil. Sear until
golden brown, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer chicken to a plate
Pour broth into skillet. Add salsa and cook on
medium. Bring to a low simmer. Nestle chicken
back into bubbling sauce. Let it simmer until
chicken is cooked through and liquid is reduced by
at least half. Carefully spoon bubbling sauce
over chicken several times while cooking.
Once sauce is thickened, remove from heat and top
with cheese. Transfer skillet into preheated oven
and bake 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted. Remove
from oven. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with fresh
