DR. PEPPER PULLED PORK (SLOW COOKER)

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
3-4 lb. pork roast
1 TBS. paprika
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. salt
1 12-oz. can Dr. Pepper (or Pepsi or root beer)
1 cup bbq sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's)

Sandwich buns
For large roasts, 6 lbs. or larger, I double all ingredients

Instructions
In a small bowl, combine paprika, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Rub over pork roast.
In a lightly greased slow cooker, whisk together Dr. Pepper and bbq sauce. Place roast in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Remove roast from slow cooker and shred with two forks. Return to slow cooker and toss with cooking liquid. If there is too much liquid, remove some before returning roasts to the slow cooker.
Serve shredded pork on sandwich buns with additional bbq, if desired.
