Vanilla buttercream- 1/2 cup butter, softened, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/8 tsp salt, 16 oz powdered sugar, 3 to 5 TBSP milk- beat first 3 ingredients at medium speed with a mixer until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar alternately with milk until desired consistency.
Chocolate butter cream increase milk to 5 to 7 TBSP. prepare recipe as directed. Whisk together 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa and powdered sugar.
