Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add marshmellows and stir completely melted. Remove from heat. Working quickly, add rice krispies, and stir until cereal is well coated. Using buttered spatula or wax paper, press the mixture evenly into a greased 13x9 inch pan. When cooled cut into squares.
