     Mexican Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
1 2/3 cups of milk
1/2 vanilla bean (split lengthwise)
1 red chili pepper, split and seeded
1 cinnamon stick, around 3-4" (or a few shakes of ground cinnamon)
1 1/2 oz bittersweet chocolate
 

Instructions
Simmer the milk in a saucepan with the vanilla bean, cinnamon and chili for a minute or two.
Then, whisk in your grated chocolate and continue to simmer until all the chocolate is melted.
Remove the pan from the stove, and let "steep" for another ten minutes or so.
Strain out the spices and serve.
