1 german chocolate cake mix that requires addition of oil. ( I used Pillsbury Plus)
¾ c butter
1 – 14 oz package light caramels
½ c evaporated milk
1 c chocolate chips
1 c chopped pecans
Follow cake mix directions except substitute butter for oil. Melt caramels with evaporated milk in double boiler. Pour half of cake batter into 9x13 cake pan and bake 10 min. @ 350. Remove. Cool 2 min. then spread caramel mixture, sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts. Spread remaining batter over top. Return to oven and bake 30 min @ 350. Serve warm with cool whip or cold as snacks.
