Preheat oven to 300°F. In large skillet melt butter over medium-low heat; add onion and cook about 15 minutes or until onion starts to brown, stirring occasionally. Stir in garlic powder. Remove from skillet.
Arrange half of the cheese on one side of each tortilla. Top with roast beef, onion mixture and remaining cheese. Fold tortillas in half, pressing gently.
In same skillet cook quesadillas, two at a time, over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once. Remove from skillet. Place on a baking sheet; keep warm in oven while cooking remaining quesadillas. Cut into wedges to serve.
