In a small saucepan, combine sugar & 1 cup water. Bring to boil & stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, the cover & refrigerate until chilled.
Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In picher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice, & remaining 7 cups of water.
