Break bread into bowl, add grated potatoes, salt and egg. Mix with your hands until you can form a ball about the size of a tennis ball. Use wet hands. boil these balls in water or soup for 30 minutes.
Fry a breaded chicken and thin bake covered until very tender. Use drippings to make a flour gravy. Add a couple Tbs vinegar to your gravy to eat over your dumplings
