     Tomato Bisque

Ingredients
1-28oz Can Furmans crushed tomatoes
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 strips bacon, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 Tbl fresh chopped basil
31/2 cups heavy cream or half and half
Salt and pepper to taste
2Tbl. olive oil
 

Instructions
Saute onion and bacon in 2Tbl.olive oil until onion is translucent.(At this point, remove onion and bacon and put in food processor and finely chop the two together.) return to pan.
Stir in basil, tomatoes and cream. Heat until warm. Do Not Boil! Salt and pepper to taste.
