Grease and flour a tube pan. Cream the butter, shortening, and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Sift the dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Fold in vanilla, lemon extract, and milk. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and place in COLD oven. Turn oven on to 325 and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
