Preheat the oven to 180c/gas mark 4. Grease a baking tin. Melt the choc & butter in a double boiler or a bowl set over a pan of simmering water.

Beat together the eggs, sugar & vanilla essence. Stir in the choc mixture. Sift over the flour & fold in. Add the choc chips.

Pour the mixture into the tin & spread evenly. Bake until just set about 30mins. The brownies should be slightly moist inside. Leave to cool in the tin.

|
Run a knife around the edge of the tin & turn out onto a baking sheet. Then cut into bars for serving.
