     Tortilla Soup

Ingredients
2 Doz corn torillas
Vegetable Oil
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbls chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin , 1/2 tsp Oregano
1 bay leaf
3 cups chicken stock
3 cups water
 
1 can (8 ozs) tomato sauce
1 can (10 ounces) Ro-Tel tomatoes w/chilies
1 1/2 teaspoons salt & pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
2 large chicken breasts cooked and shredded
Sour cream, cilanto and green onion for garnish

Instructions
Slice tortillas into thin strips. Fry in oil to crisp. Set aside. In large pot saute onion for 5 minutes,add garlic, chili pwdr,cumin,oregano & bay leaf.Saute 1 min. Add chicken stock,water,tomato sauce,tomatoes,salt sugar & pepper. Bring to a boil, add chicken. Cover and cook until tender.
To serve,ladle soup into bowls and top with tortilla strips. Garnash with sour cream, cilanto and green onion.
