1 cup butter-flavored shortening (I actually use 1 cup of butter at room temperature)

1 cup sugar
|

2 eggs
|

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
|
|
2 cups all-purpose flour
|

1 teaspoon baking soda
|
|
1 teaspoon ground cloves
|
|
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
|

3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
|
|
|

2 cups quick-cooking oats
|
|
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
|

Instructions |

|
In a large bowl, cream shortening (or butter) and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.

In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cloves and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture.
|

|
Stir in bananas, oats and chocolate chips.
|
|
|
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool.

I let these cool off completely then I store them in a container in the refrigerator.
