Preheat oven to 400.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add vanilla and salt, mix in.
Gradually add flour, mixing just until incorporated.
Mix in nuts.

Shape dough into 1" balls.
Place on ungreased baking sheet, 1 1/2" apart.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not browned.

Cool briefly, while still warm, coat with powdered sugar. (I put 1/2 cup sugar in a large ziplock bag -add 5 or 6 cookies at a time & shake GENTLEY to coat!)

Cool. Coat with sugar again.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
