Peel the boiled potatoes. Cut into thick slices and overlap in
buttered baking dish.
On stovetop make a thick syrup of the sugar and water, remove
from fire and add butter. When melted pour syrup over potatoes.
(May be refrigerated overnight at this point.) Bake uncovered for 45
minutes at 400 degrees.
