Sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and stir with fork. Turn out and knead 1/2 min. Roll 3/8 inch thick-brush with melted fat. Fold over and cut double biscuits.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 12-15 min. in 450 oven.
