Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly.
Blend in flour and salt.
Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
Work a couple drops food coloring into each section, coloring the
dough. Leave one section plain. Cover, chill for 1 hour.
Shape each colored section into a long roll, approximately 2" x 4".
Divide plain dough into 3 equal parts. Roll each plain part into a
rectangle,6"x4". Wrap one section of plain dough around each
colored roll and press firmly together. Roll in matching colored
sugar (ie: roll one in yellow, one in green, one in orange).
400 degrees
Heat oven. Cut rolls into 1/8" slices. Place on ungreased baking
sheet; cut each slice in half. Bake 6 - 8 minutes or until just set.
Remove immediately and cool on rack.
