     Tourtiere (Meat Pie)

Ingredients
5 pounds of ground pork and veal
2 packages onion soup mix
4 cups boiling water
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 teaspoon salt (optional)
2 cups breadcrumbs or croutons
savory (optional)
pie crusts - 2 doubles
 

Instructions
Cook meat 45 minutes. Add spices. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add crotons.
Prepare 2 pie crusts in pie pans. Fill pie crusts and top with additional crust. Alternately, make many small pies from cupcake tins.
Bake at 425° F for 15 minutes, then 350° for 15 minutes.
