Sift dry ingredients and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy and beat in sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time, beating. Add vanilla and pumpkin with dry ingredients. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours. Glaze while hot.
