Heat oven to 450F. Trim asparagus, snapping off tough ends. Drizzle 1 tbsp oil over the center of the baking sheet; spread asparagus evenly in the pan, in a single layer. Drizzle with the remaining tbsp of oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Roast 5 minutes for crisp-tender asparagus, 8 minutes for softer asparagus.
Transfer the asparagus to a serving dish and sprinkle with parmasean cheese; serve immediately.
