     Basic Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 medium ripe banana, peeled and broken into chunks
1 cup orange juice
 

Instructions
Combine all the ingredients in a blender container and mix on medium speed until smooth.
Add additional juice, if necessary, until the desired consistency is reached.
Fruit variation- Substitute your favorite fresh or frozen fruits like raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, cherries, melon, or pineapple. Juice variations- Substitute your favorite unsweetened juice or juice blend for the orange juice.
High Protein variation- Blend in 1 (8 ounce) container of plain, vanilla, or fruited nonfat yogurt, and 1/4 cup wheat germ. For added protein and calcium, add 1 cup of skim milk or nonfat dried milk.
