Place beans in a large pot and cover with water. Cover pot and boil beans for 10 minutes. Let sit in the pot with lid on for at least 8 hours.

Drain beans in collander and rinse well.
Add beans and cubed ham to crock pot and cover with 1 inch of water.

Add garlic powder and stir well. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
|
|
|
Mix Jiffy Cornbread mix with 1 egg and 2/3 cup of milk. Bake in a sprayed or buttered baking dish or muffin pan for 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees for cornbread, or 15-20 minutes for corn muffins.
