     Elizabeth's Cornbread

Ingredients
2 Tbsp shortening
2 cups self-rising cornmeal
1/2 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 packet active dry yeast (1/2 Tbsp)
2 cups buttermilk
 

Instructions
Melt shortening in loaf pan.
In separate bowl, combine cornmeal, flour and sugar. Sift together and add yeast.
Add buttermilk and mix well. Add shortening and stir to combine.
Put in loaf pan and bake at 365 degrees for 45 minutes.
