Melt caramels with 1/3 cup canned milk. To the choc cake mix add 1 stick melted butter, 1/3 cup canned milk, and the nuts. Stir until this mixture is mixed and divide into two parts.
Pat and press half of the dough into a greased and floured 9 by 13 pan. Bake 6 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with choc chips and spread caramel mixture over this. Then crumble remaining cake mix over caramel and bake 15 min at 350 degrees. Do not overbake.
Cut into squares.
