Mix sifted flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut shortening with knives until mixture looks like coarse meal. Add milk and stir until blended. Transfer dough to a floured board or pastry cloth. Kneasd lightly about 10 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 425 degrees for 12-25 minutes.
