Mix above ingredients together in a small saucepan. Boil with lid until steam flows freely. Remove lid and insert a thermometer and cook to 250 degrees. Add, food coloring as desired. Continue cooking to 300 degrees.(Remove from burner at 285-290 degrees as it will go up to 300 degrees). Let cool a few minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon flavoring oil. Cover with lid for 5 minutes to keep oil from burning out. Pour into pan that has been buttered. Cut with shears as soon as it is cool enough to handle. Then cut into squares or diamonds. Powdered sugar so they don't stick together.
