     Apple Betty

Ingredients
4 C sliced, pared tart apples or a 1lb 2oz can pie sliced apples, drained
1/4 C orange juice
1 C sugar
3/4 C all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
dash of salt
1/2 C butter
 

Instructions
Mound apples in buttered 9-inch pie plate; sprinkle with orange juice.
Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp.
Serving Suggestions
Serve warm with cream
