Combine chopped meat, rice and egg. Grate in onion and carrot. Add salt. Blanch cabbage leaves or whole cabbage for 2 to 3 minutes or longer, then drain.

Place a ball of meat mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf and roll up, tucking in the ends securely. Place close together in a
roasting pan. Add the other ingrediants and enough water to cover. Cover tightly and bake at 350 degrees. Remove cover and turn rolls over to brown on top then turn again to brown the other side. Flip a few times.

350 degrees to brown on top, turning once to brown under sides. Hot water may be added in small quantities if necessary during baking period. serves 4 to 5.
