Combine flour brown sugar, oats and nutmeg. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press half of the crust into a 9X9 baking dish. Reserve remainder of topping. Combine gran sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add water Cook and stir over med. heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 min more. Remove from heat, Stir in vanilla. Place fruit on to of crust mixture in dish. Pour sugar syrup over all. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the fruit. Bake 350 for 40-45 min until fruit is tender.
