Sift flour before measuring, then re-sift with baking soda and salt. Set aside

Cream butter. Add sugars gradually and continue beating until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in sifted ingredients. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, placing cookies well apart. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.

Tip- Take out of oven 1 iminute early. Let cool on pan for chewy goodness.
