Mix cake mix, pie filling, egg and almond extract together and beat for 1 minute. Grease and flour 9 by 13 pan. Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 27-30 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. While cooling bring sugar, milk and butter to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Stir in chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth. Immediately spread over warm cake. Let cake cool for another 1 and 1/2 hours before serving.
