     Ellen's Chinese Chicken Salad

Ingredients
Romaine lettuce (shredded)
Chopped green onion
Sliced water chestnuts
Toasted sesame seeds
Toasted sliced almonds
Mandarin oranges (canned segments in own juice/drained)
Fried won ton strips
1/2 C sugar
4 t salt
 
2 t MSG
1 1/2 t black pepper
1 t dry mustard
1/2-3/4 C white vinegar
1/2 C vegetable oil
Microwave and shred chicken breasts (start with boneless -- it's easier))

Instructions
Dissolve sugar, salt, MSG, black pepper, dry mustard in white vinegar over low heat. Do not boil. Let cool and mix with vegetable oil. Shake vigorously before serving.
Layer all ingredients (lettuce, green onion, water chestnuts, sesame seeds, almonds, mandarin oranges, won top strips, chicken. Toss all and add dressing. Do not go too heavy with dressing. Toss all together and finish with won ton strips.
Good to make won ton strips the day before. Let cool. Store in plastic bags over night.
Serving Suggestions
Good with and without chicken. Good for lunch.
