1 C shortening (can use margarine, or butter flavored Crisco, or butter)
3/4 C brown sugar
3/4 C white sugar
1 t salt
1 t baking soda
1 t vanilla extract
2 C white flour
2 C (1 regular sized package) semi sweet chocolate chips
cream together shortening & sugars. Blend in eggs, salt, soda, and
vanilla. Mix in flour and chips. Drop balls on parchment covered
cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown. Cool slightly
and remove from cookie sheets. Cool on cooling racks before
transferring to container.
Can mix types of chips. Good to mix are semi-sweet, milk
chocolate, and white/vanilla chips. Best if use electric blender to
get batter very smooth.
