Cream butter & sugar until light. Add eggs & vanilla and beat thoroughly.

Add dry ingredients & sour cream in thirds, beating until smooth. Spread half of batter in greased & floured (9x12x12). Sprinkle half of the filing over dough. Spread remaining batter on top and then remaining sugar & nut mixture.

Bake in 350 degree oven about 35 minutes. Check after 30 minutes. Drizzle a thin confectioners sugar icing over cake.

Drizzle a thin confectioners sugar icing over cake. Make icing by mixing a small amount of water with confectioners sugar and mixing until smooth and pourable.
