     Mom's Chili

Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef
1 large diced onion (approx. 1/2 cup when diced)
1/2 of 6 oz. can of tomato paste
1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 15.5 oz. cans kidney beans
2 tbs. chili powder
1 tbs. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
 
1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions
Brown beef and drain. Chop onion and add to beef. Add salt and pepper.
Transfer beef mixture into a large pot. Add all remaining ingredients. Turn to medium heat and cook for approx. 1/2 hour. Turn down to low and cook for at least 2 additional hours. Stir occasionally. Taste test and add more sugar, salt, pepper, and chili powder as needed.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot.
