Cream all ingredients together slowly starting with the butter and a little sugar at a time, slowly adding milk until smooth.

Chocolate butter frosting
Add 3 sq. unsweetened chocolate melted
|

|
|
Mocha butter Frosting
omit frosting, and in place of cream use strong black coffee
|
|
|
|
Orange or Lemon Butter Frosting
omit vanilla, and in place of the cream, use orange (or lemon) juice. Add grated rind for extra flavor.
