2 cups dried textured vegetable protein granules (not the chunky kind)

1 3/4 cups of boiling water
|
|
1 small onion, finely chopped
|
|
3/4 tsp finely chopped fresh garlic or garlic powder

1/2 tsp black pepper
|
|
3/4 tsp salt
|
|
1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
|
|
2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
|
|
1/4 tsp chili powder
|
|
|
|
1/2 tsp cumin
|
|
3/4 tsp oregano
|
|
1 1/2 tbsp dried parsley
|
|
1/2 cup flour
|
|
2 to 3 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
|

Instructions |
|
|
Place textured vegetable protein in a bowl, add water, and let soak for 10 minutes.
|
|
|
Add onion, garlic and all seasonings to textured vegetable protein and mix togher. Add flour and mix well. Shape into burgers.
|
|
|
Heat oil in a skillet until very hot and pan fry burgers until golden brown on each side, about 10 minutes total.
