Ingredients
4 cups flour
4 eggs
1 pt milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
solid shortening to grease pan
 

Instructions
Sift together dry ingredients. In another bowl beat eggs until very light. Melt butter. Add milk to flour mixture, then eggs, then melted butter. Grease a large tube pan or muffin tins. Mix all together, stir well, and bake in a 425 degree oven for about a half hour or a 350 degree oven for as much as 50 minutes for the larger cake. Test with toothpick.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot at the table with butter or jam
