To Prepare the dog biscuits
Empty the mix into a bowl, and stir the ingredients together. Cut in
1/2 cup Crisco. Mix in l large, lightly beaten egg plus 3/4 cup hot
water. Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Wrap in waxed paper and
refrigerate for one half hour.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough 1/2 inch thick and cut into
dog bone shapes. Place on a microwave-safe plate and microwave at half power for 5 minutes. Turn biscuits over and microwave at half power for
2 more minutes. Repeat with remaining dough. Place biscuits on wire
racks to cool and harden for a few hours before storing in an airtight container.
